This was one of those crazy ideas again that we could not say “no” to. Our client wanted a shirt that resembled the inspi(red) shirt from a few years back. They wanted a random very faded looked … not really just a distressed filter. They wanted it super soft, the shirt and the imprint. I had an idea that I thought would work. I love it when people pay me to experiment! First we turned all of the shirts inside out. Then we reversed the image and printed the image on the inside of the shirt with a special recipe of discharge inks … the ink bled through in the curing process. A viola … each shirt is a little bit different because the curing process reacted a little bit random. We of course then turned the shirts right side out again and cured them in another propriety manner.
I don’t know if I would do it over again. It was way more work than we charged for … but it was a very cool shirt. This is an Anvil 980 tshirt … 100% cotton.
